As many of you know, Sal's by Victor, which has long been one of my favorite restaurants in Williamsburg, burned down over the summer. But, I am happy to report, they're back, and better than before. Victor, who has owned and operated this classic, family-oriented, Italian restaurant since my dad was in college, has rented a new location, a little farther out Richmond Road, and is doing very well.
The same quick and courteous staff that have been with Victor for years is still there, and the wonderful variety of pizzas, pastas, and seafoods that has been an indispensable part of the Williamsburg restaurant scene is still there. Sal's by Victor is first choice when friends visit from out of town, and I am delighted to report his return to business. I know this news is a little late - Victor hung his shingle at the new location several weeks ago - but I had to see for myself that it was the same great restaurant before I reported on it. Visit or re-visit Sal's - you won't regret it.
Sal's by Victor's temporary location is 1425 Richmond Road in Williamsburg next to Black Angus Grille. Victor plans on re-opening in the old location sometime in April-May of 2010. We're happy to have you back!
