Posted by CW Burke in Richmond , Live Performance , Comedy Show

Brian Regan at the Carpenter Theatre

Contributed by CW Burke

brian-regan-facesBrian Regan is one of the funniest people in America. He has reached the highest level of stand-up comedians, standing at the zenith with current titans Louis C.K., Paul F. Tompkins, Patton Oswalt and all-time legends Bill Cosby, Bob Newhart, and Woody Allen (and yes, they are all men, I'm sorry, there are plenty of hilarious women new and old-Morgan Murphy, Jen Kirkman, Maria Bamford, prime Joan Rivers, Elaine Nichols, etc.-the above list is a reflection of my own subjective taste in stand-up comedy). What is the difference between Brian Regan and the above-listed titans and legends? He's touring right now, with all new material!

Richmond Comedy: Jerry Seinfeld at Landmark Theater

Posted by taylor in Richmond , Comedy Show

Seinfeld was one of my favorite shows. At least once a week my husband I use a phrase from Seinfeld in our conversations . Here are a few of our favorites:  "These pretzels are makin' me thirsty", "man hands," close-talker," "No soup for you!", and "Not that there's anything wrong with that".

The phrases coined from this show have truly become a part of pop culture.  So, how many phrases can you rattle off?  Just thinking about will put a smile on your face.
